What does a Senior Technical Artist do?

As a Senior Technical Artist, you will report to the Frostbite Technical Art lead. As a part of the Frostbite Technical Art team, specializing in Production Systems, you will help make our development process more creator-centric by serving as a link between engineers and game creators.

What we are looking for

You are a technical artist experienced in content creation, tool development for content creators, and setting up functionality in game engines. You are passionate about improving content creation workflows in game engines by developing tools, automation, and validations. Your technical art experience includes using Python, or similar scripting languages, visual scripting (node-base), and you enjoy working across multiple feature domains to build the best creator experience in Frostbite.

Your expertise in navigating the challenges of content creation and game engines will help us push the boundaries of the latest tools and workflows released by Frostbite to game teams.

Who You Are:

  • At least 6+ years of game/film production experience. You have completed more than 2 AAA games/movies.

  • Experience helping others achieve their best through game development tools.

  • Experience with a diversity of content creation tools within a game engine (unity, unreal, etc).

  • Expert knowledge of scripting/programming in python or other languages.

  • Proficient knowledge of 2D and 3D DCC tools (such as Photoshop and Maya).

  • A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems and to resolve technical challenges and limitations facing content creators

  • Effective at communicating with different audiences.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
