Speech Artist - EA Create Audio

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - Hybrid/On-site

The Challenge Ahead

We are seeking a talented Speech Artist to join our team on an exciting FPS game. In this role, you will collaborate within a team of VO artist peers, game designers and directors to edit and implement speech recordings, enhancing the player experience through the game’s narrative.
 
 This position requires professional audio editing and file management expertise, as well as familiarity with game development tools and processes. It's an excellent opportunity for audio artists experienced in video game speech and narrative development to add one of the industry's leading franchises to their portfolio.
 

 Responsibilities:

  • Implement and refine mission dialogue within the game engine.
  • Collaborate with VO Designers, Narrative, and Level Designers to develop mission dialogue.
  • Manage lines/scripts using the internal VO tool/database and generate placeholder TTS assets.
  • Support prototyping of systemic VO for squad, friendly, and enemy AI.
  • Analyze narrative scripts to interpret requirements for speech features
  • Prepare scripts and reference materials for recording sessions.
     Update VO assets and the VO tool database with content from sessions and outsourced editors.
  • Editing, post-production, and implementation of VO recordings captured during performance capture sessions.
  • Potentially oversee recording sessions remotely to ensure line context accuracy with the Talent Director.
  • Ensure build stability procedures are followed and tasks get completed on time

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with DAWs and standard audio processing tools.

  • Experience in video game narrative development and speech feature design.

  • Skilled in audio editing, especially speech recordings.

  • Ability to track and manage VO script changes and their impact on audio features.

  • Familiarity with content and project management tools like Perforce/JIRA.

  • Experience with node-based logic systems (e.g. Unreal, MaxMSP, Frostbite).

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $73,200 - $101,700 CAD

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
