We are looking for a Senior Systems Design Director like you to join us in our mission to create amazing games and experiences, and to elevate ourselves and our craft. You will report to our Design Line Manager. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options, and welcome full-time remote candidates who are within Canada to apply.

    You will drive the long-term vision for engagement-related features by leading a cross-location team of designers in a multi-product environment. This means setting direction and overseeing the implementation of features related to Economy, Progression and Social.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct long-term Direction for Progression, Economy, and Social related features in line with the overall game vision
    • Communicate vision, design, constraints, and concerns for your area
    • Enhance the collaborative process and structure within and outside the team
    • Contribute to the maintenance of an inclusive and creative working environment

    Qualifications

    • At least one shipped title in a design leadership role
    • At least one shipped multiplayer title as a designer working within any of the important responsibility areas (Progression, Economy, and Social)
    • Experience leading complex product and team environments.
    • Understanding of best practices for creating an inclusive work environment.
    • Live Service experience in a design leadership role
    • Several years of games industry experience

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Experience shipping a F2Play game in a creative leadership role
    • Lead a team across multiple time-zones

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

    The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

    PAY RANGES

    * British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $151,800 - $208,900 CAD
    * California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento) * $170,500 - $259,300 USD
    Benefits Language

    In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

    In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
